Representative Payee
The ARC of Monroe County is now offering Representative Payee Services to the developmentally challenged population in Monroe County. We have 28 accounts already and we are willing to serve more consumers.
Being Representative Payee means that we file paperwork with Social Security, receive the consumer's Social Security check, open a checking account in the consumer's name, with our representative's signature being the only accepted signature on the checks, thus protecting the consumer from over spending or careless spending. We make sure all the needs of the consumer are met in a timely manner and that their living arrangements are the best possible for the individual.
